Northamptonshire residential care home Darsdale provides comfortable, expert support for the over 55s. Our 30-bedroom home caters for a variety of needs, including people with sight loss or a visual impairment, hearing impairment and deafness, dual sensory loss and physical disabilities.
All bedrooms are comfortably furnished and 25 have wheelchair-accessible en-suites with grab rails. Each room also has a digital TV aerial and a telephone point if residents wish to bring their own equipment. We also encourage residents to personalise their bedrooms to recreate the sense of home and many people bring ornaments, pictures and even furniture to help them make a smooth transition into residential care.
Our dedicated and friendly team of carers have expertise, knowledge and training in caring for elderly people with a range of personal needs, including restricted mobility, low-level dementia, sight loss, hearing loss or deafblind.
All of our care staff have or are working towards a Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care, with many seniors holding Level 3 Diplomas. All staff undergo mandatory training which includes manual handling, health and safety, infection control, falls prevention, medication, fire safety and dementia awareness. Further training courses undertaken include first aid, food hygiene, nutrition awareness in the elderly, Depravation of Liberties, Mental Capacity Act, continence training, deafblind awareness, diabetes training, palliative/end of life care, pressure ulcer care and visual awareness training.
Designed and equipped to cater for a variety of needs, Darsdale offers comfortable accommodation for up to thirty people who would like to maintain their independence yet continue with personal pursuits and activities in a supportive environment. Our dedicated Activities Co-ordinator ensures there is always plenty going on, with regular pub lunches, quizzes and armchair exercises amongst some of the most popular.
